Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County Announces Thanksgiving and Winter Hours
 
 
Valparaiso, IN – Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County has released its Thanksgiving and winter hours of operation.
 
·         Thursday, November 23, 2023: District office and all Compost Sites closed.
·         Friday, November 24, 2023: District office, Boone Grove Compost Site, and Portage Compost Site closed. Valparaiso Compost Site will remain open 8am-4pm.
·         Saturday, November 25, 2023: District office, Boone Grove Compost Site, and Portage Compost Site closed. Valparaiso Compost Site will remain open 8am-4pm.
 
Beginning December 11, 2023 Portage and Boone Grove Compost Sites will be closed for the season, making December 9th the final day for drop off. The Valparaiso Compost Site is open year-round for recycling, yard waste, and electronic drop off Monday-Saturday 8am-4pm.
 
Current site hours:
Valparaiso Compost Site Hours (2150 W Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN 46385):
Monday through Saturday: 8am—4pm.
 
Portage Compost Site Hours (6451 US Highway 12, Portage, IN 46368):
Monday through Saturday: 8am—4pm through December 9, 2023.
 
Boone Grove Compost Site (546 S 400 W, Valparaiso, IN 46385):
Monday through Saturday 8am-4pm through December 9, 2023.
 
Boone Grove and Portage Compost Sites will reopen for season March of 2024.
