GODSPELL SHINES AT 4 TH STREET THEATER
4 th Street Theater announces the opening of the beloved musical, Godspell—2012 Revised Version on
Friday, November 1 st , to a weekend of sold out performances. The show will continue to run through
Sunday, November 24 th at 4 th Street Theater, 125 N. Fourth Street in Chesterton.
Directed by Michael Glorioso of Valparaiso, this production brings to life the timeless parables of the
Gospel according to Matthew through a compelling blend of songs, dances, and storytelling. With music
and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin) and book by John-Michael Tebelak, Godspell has
charmed audiences worldwide with its unique take on the bible verses. The 2012 revision infuses the
classic score with contemporary arrangements and orchestrations, making the show more vibrant and
accessible than ever before, adding new life to classic songs like “Day by Day”, “Prepare Ye”, and
“Beautiful City.”

for decades," said Michael Glorioso, Director. "Our cast and crew have poured their hearts into this
production, and we are proud to share it with our community." The show is music and vocal directed by
Katelyn Leonard-White, with choreography by Andrew Glorioso. Costumes are created by Stanlee
Hodsden and sets by Kevin Doler. Lighting is designed by Angela Heid.
The cast features a talented ensemble of local actors, including Connor O’Dell of Valparaiso as Jesus and
Jason Utesch, also of Valparaiso, as Judas/John the Baptist. They are joined by a dynamic group of local
performers who bring each parable to life with their energy and enthusiasm. Each actor brings a fresh and
unique perspective to their character, playing a crucial role in delivering the musical’s uplifting message
of hope, love, and community. Live music is performed by a talented ensemble, creating an immersive
experience that promises to engage audiences from start to finish.
According to Executive Producer, Sandra Assarian, “4 th Street Theater has a mission of diversity that
includes classic plays and musicals and compelling new works that make you think and laugh in the
intimacy of our 50-seat venue. For nearly 25 years, we have provided a platform for local talent and
fostered a love of the arts through diverse productions and educational programs.”
North Coast Cultural Association and 4 th Street Theater (a not-for-profit all volunteer organization), is
supported by grants from Illinois Arts Commission through South Shore Arts and National Endowment
for the Arts and from Porter County Community Foundation, several other Foundations and Trusts, and
the kind generosity of individual patrons.
Performance dates remaining through November 24, 2024. Sunday performances are at 3pm. Fridays
and Saturdays are at 8pm. Reservations are recommended due to limited seating. To reserve seats call
