| The Pop-Up returns to the PoCo Muse this summer from July 20 through August 8! The Pop-Up: A Valparaiso Art Experience is a regional art competition organized by Valparaiso Events and the Enclave Project.
This year, the Porter County Museum will host six regional artists! The exhibit will be on display from July 20 through August 8, with a chance to meet and greet the artists during a reception on August 3 from 5-7p at the Porter County Museum. The PoCo Muse will feature a wide variety of artists working in various media, including printmaking, photography, sculpture, painting, and mixed media.

The Taste of Michigan City is an annual event created and hosted by the Michigan City Mainstreet Association. It brings dozens of local restaurants to the Uptown Arts District giving people an opportunity to sample the many exciting varieties of cuisine available in and around Michigan City. The event also brings in many musical acts and we host a beer garden that features several local breweries and wineries.
The event begins at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 4th and ends that night at 11:00 PM. Then, the event starts up again on Saturday, August 5th at noon and ends that night at 11:00 PM.
The Super Boat Parade will be on Saturday, August 5th and will start at 6:00 PM.

With the 50-and-older crowd growing in number and vigor, aging has become an art.
And that's the driving force behind The Times-sponsored Art of Aging Lifestyle & Wellness Expo, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 26 at Blue Chip Casino & Hotel Stardust Event Center in Michigan City.
The event is free with registration open at www.artofagingexpo.com. Walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event, but those who register ahead of time will be eligible for prize drawings that will include a trip and a Microsoft Surface Tablet.
"Local businesses and even our publisher, Chris White, had heard of similar expos and thought it was a good time to try it here," says Jim Pellegrini, head of marketing and creative services for The Times and the man spearheading the program.
