LIGHTNING BUG MUSIC FESTIVAL SHINING BRIGHT IN 2017
Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso welcomes The 3rd Annual Lightning Bug Festival on Sunday, July 2nd. This beloved family festival and celebration for music lovers continues to grow and is poised to prove itself as the premier summer event of 2017. Headlining this years’ Lightning Bug is The Del McCoury Band, Grammy winner and the most awarded bluegrass band in history. Bluegrass Hall of Famer Del McCoury, 78, dubbed “a national treasure” by The Washington Post, has been awarded a fellowship by the National Endowment for the Arts and continues to dazzle audiences nationwide. Also on the bill are jamgrass pioneers Leftover Salmon, a fixture on the national festival scene known for their incredible live performances, and Shemekia Copeland, blues firebrand and 2016 Contemporary Blues Female Artist Award winner.
